[Compare "for the remission of sins" to the exact same phrase in Matthew 26:28 and you'll see what it means.]
There is also an antitype which now saves us—baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
- 1 Peter 3:21You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe-and tremble! 20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? - James 2:19-20

Sadly, your church -- like most churches in the yellow pages! -- is not in the Bible.

Jesus is God's ultimate prophet. God completed His revelation in the days of Jesus' apostles, and once the written word was completed, there was no more need for living apostles or prophets.

Jesus is God, the Creator.
Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM." - John 8:58
Jesus claimed to be eternal. Compare this phrase with Exodus 3, and you'll see that "I AM" is the name of JEHOVAH.
But to the Son He says: "Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your Kingdom. - Hebrews 1:8
The Son is God.
Now Thomas, called the Twin, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. 25 The other disciples therefore said to him, "We have seen the Lord." So he said to them, "Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe." 26 And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, "Peace to you!" 27 Then He said to Thomas, "Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. (Read Mark 16:16 for the correct sequence.)
"Every church nowadays is a denomination."
(We CAN return to the New Testament pattern... and some congregations HAVE!!)
"Choose the church of your choice."
(Instead, we should choose the church of GOD'S choice!)
